Maui offers some great diving, both from beach and boat. Most dive charters operate from Maui's West Side, which includes sites as far north as the Marine Sanctuary, Honolua Bay and as far south as La Perouse Bay. Molokini Island, a half-submerged extinct volcanic crater, is another popular dive and snorkel destination. The clear waters and reef within the crater are great for snorkeling and diving, while the famous "back wall" of Molokini offers an outrageous wall dive. Another cool thing about Maui is that you can dive other islands - Lanai and Molokai. Lanai has some spectacular dive sites, including First and Second Cathedrals. We have referenced our Diving Index by the the areas that each boat frequently snorkels and dives. We've also included a section on instruction and specialty dives, for those of you that want to expand your knowledge of diving or want an experience something a little out of the ordinary.
